Institutional investors are asking about their resilience of their real estate investments. Who's in charge? What's at risk? What is the management team doing about it? How are they tracking performance over time? The best companies have good answers to all of these questions and climate risk and resilience are rapidly becoming a mainstream part of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting. Three leaders in the field will share their experiences and new data from the 2019 GRESB Resilience Module -- the world's largest benchmark for real assets.

Learning Objectives for this Session Include:
  1. Explain how real estate investors assess climate risk for their holdings.
  2. Use data from a benchmark of major real estate groups worldwide to illustrate trends in adoption of resilience strategies.
  3. Describe how resilience is being integrated into environmental, social, and governance reporting for real estate investors.
  4. List three strategies that real estate portfolio managers are using to mitigate climate risk.
This session is approved for the following continuing education credits:
  • 1.5 AIA LU
  • 1.5 LFA General credits
